Bucket List Day Date... Our first bucket list date of the year...Walking the Ashton Gardens 5/4/2018

My Husband and I have spent 6 years running back and forth to work.
We have often said the only thing we know about where we live is
the roads we travel to work.  This summer I vowed to change that.
We are on the edge of being empty nesters and I wanted to make
sure that we spend quality time together.
So this is the first of many day trips together.

It just happens to be at my favorite place to go the Ashton Gardens.
I thought my husband should see all the tulips in bloom.
He is a very patient man as I stop and take lots of photos.

This photo looks up at the main building.
All the trees in bloom with the tulips lined up
under them is just so beautiful.

It's nice to come here on a date, there are lots of
benches to sit on and look at the pretty flowers about you.

My husband always says while looking down this hill
that if they were open in the winter this would be a fun
hill to sled down.

Even though it's the last weekend of the Tulip Festival
the Tulips are still beautiful.

One of my projects this winter is to learn what
all the different flowers are that I have photographed.
I'd like to make a book with their photo's and names.

Can you see the little dragon fly on this flower?
My Husband patiently waiting for me to
finish taking photos.

I spent a bit more time in the Fragrance garden
this time, taking photo's of the tulips and
their name plates.

I like the ice cream tulip. It looks like
a scoop of ice cream in a pretty bowl.

This is one of my favorite tulips.

All the trees in bloom are just so beautiful.

These tulips look like a nice snack for this giant caterpillar.

Some Mallard Ducks.  I wonder where the girls are?

The Goose family. I love watching the babies grow up.

We had a great day walking at the Gardens.  During the Tulip Festival
they have concession stands so we had a little lunch there.
They also have a little restaurant in the main building that you
can have lunch at.  Its very fancy.
Well I hope you enjoyed all the flower photos.
Do you have a favorite?
G.G.
