My Flower Collection, Ranunculus Flowers.

One of my favorite springtime flowers is the Ranunculus.
They come in a variety of colors and are just beautiful.

In the language of flowers, a bouquet of ranunculus says
"I am dazzled by your charms."

The name ranunculus can be broken down to it's Latin
roots to mean little frog, it is assumed that it
got this name because it grew beside streams and was
as plentiful as the little frogs in the area.

They are part of the butter cup flower family.

Ranunculus-- the word itself is round
And rich and brightly colored and so lush
That stoic heroes have been turned to mush
Where fields and fields of them have been around!
Anissa Nedzel Gage.

They are also known as the spring rose.

I loved how they arranged the flowers in baskets on bikes this
year at the garden.  It made for some beautiful photos.

I really enjoyed photographing these beautiful flowers this spring and learning
more about them.

Garden Walk Week 13. Roses, Lilies and Dinosaurs Oh My!

This week at the gardens there were some beautiful Lilies in bloom.

Look there is still snow on the mountains.

The roses in the rose garden are still looking really nice.
I have been trying to get a good photo of each rose that has a
name plate with it.

I thought the petals on this daisy were interesting.

They have some pretty poppies in the fragrance garden.

I thought that this looks a bit like a mouth waiting to consume something,
I don't know if I was a bee if I would feel safe crawling in there.

They have hidden dinosaurs in the trees again.
I found three of the trees.

While looking for dinosaurs I found this humming bird on
it's nest.  It was hard to get a good photo.

A huge bumble bee.

Bachelor Buttons.

I love walking around the secret garden.
I'm thinking of doing a photo book with my favorite photos from
just in this part of the garden.

This is a flower on a tree.  I'm amazed by all the flowering trees.

I love seeing the humming birds.

Well I wonder how long it will take me to find all the dinosaurs.
I like the added fun to my walk.
Have a wonderful week.  Hope you enjoyed the photos.

Garden Walk Week 12. The Roses are in full bloom and smell so sweet.

The garden is full of new plants.  I love walking and seeing all the things
they have been planting in place of the tulips.

These remind me of a pinwheel.

I love the big pots of plants.

I like to see the different plants and colors that
they come in.  I love the dark almost purple color
of this plant with the lime green edges.

My bee photo of the week.  They have a lot
of big bumble bees this year, but not
as many honey bees as they had last year.  I wonder
if their hives had a problem.

The roses in the rose garden are beautiful right now.
When I walk here I often think of the story of
"Beauty and the Beast."
I imagine that the Beast rose garden was just as beautiful.

The water lilies are also so beautiful to see.

I saw this beautiful Clematis near the fragrance garden.

The theme this year is plants that changed history.
In the fragrance garden they are planting all sorts of
interesting plants.  Look they have a pineapple plant.
I have never seen a pineapple plant before.  I guess
I thought they grew way up in a tree.

The Clematis climbing up one of the walls in the secret garden.

There are lots of Lilies starting to bloom.

I now have a collection of beautiful Peony photos.

This is not a peony, I'm not sure what it flower it is,
I love how it is lit up by the sun.

Well I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my photos.
