The dream.... a vacation to New Jersey....To visit all our favorite places....
The stress was all the preparation before the trip...The first stress was buying plane tickets...watching prices and hoping to get the best prices possible...I read articles...watched the website and finally bought the tickets out to New Jersey...I think I did pretty good they were about $189.00 a person... Then I waited to buy the flights home to the dismay of many...We weren't flying home from the same airport so it made sense to wait and see if I could get a good deal...The tickets home were a little more expensive...But I did get one free ticket...I also had to buy some more luggage because we needed to have luggage with wheels...and I think I was one suitcase short...Thank goodness for luggage sales and deep discounts...and perhaps some Kohl's cash too...
I also had to do a little clothes shopping...because I wanted some good photos....and I guess it was just nice to get some new stuff...And maybe some more Kohl's cash (LOL)...
I had to get a bag big enough to carry my camera, my nook, my wallet and all the things I wanted to read on the plane...Yes my camera bag fit in the big travel purse that I bought...It was pretty heavy... on the way home I didn't have as much in it as I decided to just try to sleep on the plane....
One of my co-workers asked me how much luggage did I have for our trip...One carry-on per person I said...She laughed...No Way...You have to have more than that...No...Just one carry-on case each...We were lucky that we stayed at our families homes so we could do laundry...But I'm a good packer too...I fit a lot of stuff in my carry-on bag....I'm packed and ready to go! Do you know there are magazine articles on how to pack for vacation...I studied up on that too!
Do you suffer from motion sickness?? My daughter and I do and so we had to make sure we had our Sea Bands...We were missing a pair so I was glad I could find a new box at Walmart.... Motion sickness is not fun...And it is not all in a persons head either...It's actually in your Ears....Or that is where the problem starts...These bands really work though and are much better than taking medicine. I was glad to have them as we did a lot of flying and driving on this trip!
All our bags are packed and ready to go...This is actually a lot less than when we would pack for a camping trip when we lived in New Jersey and traveled to Vermont....Those trips were a lot more stressful when it came to packing, there were so many things we needed....
I'm ready to go....The next stress is getting to the airport on time....My husband never seems to want to leave when I want to leave...And I wanted to leave....I was ready to be on my way....Let's go!
The hard thing was leaving miss Kitty behind....She kept trying to get into our luggage....But we found a really great cat sitter....
I still can't believe my vacation is over....I'm having so much fun looking at all the photo's and remembering what a great time we had.
