It was so nice to get away from work and walk
around the bird refuge. This blue heron
looks like it's being made to walk the plank.
They have little heron babies up there.
We forgot the binoculars so we didn't get
a close up view.
I'm assuming one parent stays with the babies
and the other gets food. Then the one that gets the
food feeds the other one.
Do you see the babies?
I think this is a family of pelicans.
The big one was getting really clean.
I think the others might be young birds.
So this is how far away I really am from the birds.
This is zooming in.
We have had some cloudy cool days.
It was perfect for walking and watching the birds.
This is an American Coot.
This is a yellow headed black bird.
I love listening to all the noisy birds as we walk along the path.
This is how far away the bird is from me.
A red winged black bird.
It was a bit closer to us.
A glossy Ibis. It's hard to get a photo with it's head out of the water.
A double crested cormorant. It did not
want to stay still for a nice photo.
A black crowned night heron.
Pied-billed grebe.
A muskrat.
Do you have a favorite thing to do that gets you out of the house.
We had a wonderful day walking and watching all the birds.
