Mom of a Missionary, emails from Mexico. October 29,2018

Hello, Family and Friends! Elder Bowlby here.

We're working really hard to offer salvation! We're doing our best, studying hard, and living life!

I'm working on studying faith this week to get a better understanding. Faith seems like something really simple, but it's very complex. We have to believe and hope in something we cannot see, but is true! How do we know something is true if we don't see it?? That's a good question. We have to ask God, believing that we'll recieve an answer from him!

This week, there was an hour change. We pushed the clocks back one hour. Suddenly at 6:30 it's super dark out! That makes our work a bit harder, given that when it's dark out here, the people start getting suspicious about everything. They're constantly looking over their shoulders looking for anything shifty and out-of-place. It's kinda sad, because when it gets dark is when we have the toughest time.

Above all, The Lord blesses those who work in his great work of missionary service! I'm confident that I'm doing the right thing. I hope you all are well as well.

Stay strong! I love you all, and I miss you. I hope you are fighting the good fight of faith and praying daily.

Here's a scripture I liked a lot:
Alma 13:27-29
27 And now, my brethren, I wish from the inmost part of my heart, yea, with great anxiety even unto pain, that ye would hearken unto my words, and cast off your sins, and not procrastinate the day of your repentance;
28 But that ye would humble yourselves before the Lord, and call on his holy name, and watch and pray continually, that ye may not be tempted above that which ye can bear, and thus be led by the Holy Spirit, becoming humble, meek, submissive, patient, full of love and all long-suffering;

29 Having faith on the Lord; having a hope that ye shall receive eternal life; having the love of God always in your hearts, that ye may be lifted up at the last day and enter into his rest.

See you soon!
