Birds and flowers adventures for my weekend. 5/6/2020

Most people consider Saturday and Sunday the
weekend, but for me any two days off in a row is
my weekend.
This week that was Tuesday and Wednesday.
I'm always happy when I get Tuesday off because then

My husband and I can go out on an adventure.
I love our weekly day dates.

Due to the Coronavirus many of the places
I would like to visit are closed.  So lately we
have been going to the different migratory bird refuge parks.

I've decided to only post the really great bird photos,
and the photos of birds I have not photographed before.
I really liked the photo of the Red Winged black bird and the Heron.
I have a lot of good photos of these birds now.

I also liked this photo of the yellow headed black bird.
I just like how puffed up his chest is.

I think this is a type of sea gull.
I will have to figure it out and then come back and edit this.
I thought these were really cool to watch.

I enjoy just sitting and watching the birds.
They also have a nice walk you can do.
The sun, fresh air and birds is just so nice after
working several days in a store where everyone from
the employees to the customers are on edge.

It's really beautiful out by the bird refuge.
It was nice to see these horses.

I'm not sure what breed they are, but
I love watching horses too.

The gardens are open.
There are tulips still in bloom.
I was a bit disappointed in the fact that most of
the people who attended did not wear face masks.

I thought when I read the opening rules that
they were going to require people to have face masks on.
All the employees had them on but most of  the
people walking around did not.

I was sure to keep my mask on and stay 6 feet away from people.

I enjoyed walking around, and seeing the flowers and all
the birds flying about.

I didn't think I took tons of
photos, but then I down loaded them to this
blog post and realized maybe I did take a lot of photos.

I don't think I will go every week to the gardens this year.
I just don't want to be around a lot of people with
this virus still around.

I realized that I really probably have enough photos
from previous years, and I kind of enjoyed the
morning in my own garden today.
Perhaps this year I will do better with my own yard.

This tree not only looked so pretty,
I think it also smelled lovely.

If this virus lasts the summer I am hoping to have
my house really cleaned and organized.  My husband
had hoped to go visit his family in New Jersey this fall,
I'm not sure that will happen.

We are hoping that the fall festival we  like to go to will
happen.  I thought this flower had such a pretty pattern.

I did pretty good at staying away from people.

One thing I practiced with my photography was taking photos
of the same flower from different view points.
I liked this red tulip with the white tips.

I like this color combination too.

This is also a pretty color pattern.

There were lots of bees in the trees.

The scent garden had a ton of little crab apple trees in bloom.

A new to me tulip.  Isn't interesting looking.

Mostly green with just a little bit of red.

It's name is green power.  I was glad to see a new flower.
That is what I love when I go walking is seeing something new.

This is a poppy just about to bloom.

Forget me nots.

English daisy.  I like these, I tried to grow them
in my garden but they didn't live.  Perhaps I should try again this year.

I liked walking around the secret garden.
They had all these directional paths to help with social distancing.
Yet people let their little kids run all over and play in the water.

I thought this was pretty.  I had to leave and then come
back to this section because it was too crowded.

The Italian gardens were still really beautiful.

I love the edges on this tuip.

This is at the top of the Italian gardens.

I really love this section.  Usually the next section has
some interesting thing hanging from the trees, but this year there
was nothing.

I bunch of photos of the tulips from different angles.

Back to the secret garden.  This spot was really pretty,
so of course everyone wanted photos of it.

This anemone flower was just beautiful.

Now in a light purple color.

The bees are happy for all the flowers.

I thought this was pretty the one white poppy in the middle of all
the purple tulips.

I liked how I got one flower perfectly in focus
and all the ones behind it are just a bit blurred.

This was a very pretty little flower, it might be a little tulip.

This fuzzy flower is kind of cool looking.

I like the texture of it.

This is what it looks like when it's dead.

Wisteria.  Well I'm not sure how many flower blogs I will do this
summer.  I hope the virus goes away soon, but if
it is around I'm probably not go to go walking
in public often.  Maybe I'm wrong and there is no need to wear masks,
but I feel everyone right now should and I am amazed at how many people are not.

Plus after days of working with a face mask on I
just want to be in my own home, and not have to add the worry.
I am thankful that so far no one in my home is sick.
I pray that we stay well.
I hope you are all well too.
G.G.
