Average Kimberly, JunkYard Jim and the big pain in the Bottom... Things you need when you have massively hurt your back.

Junk yard Jim is so close to being
Better and returning to work.
The last 6 months have been a long trial.
I have been looking at everything we got to try to help
Ease his pain and help him recover.
The above set of memory foam pillows helped him
Get in positions that eased the level of his pain.

In the first few weeks heat helped him get a little
Relief from the pain.  He really wanted to constantly
Lay on the heating pad. His pain was really high.

Sitting was pretty uncomfortable but these
Special cushions helped him get some time sitting.
At first he could only sit
For a few minutes.  Slowly as he has healed
He can sit for longer and no longer needs
The cushions.  I like them.

The cane allowed him to walk for little stretches.
One thing he needed to do in the healing process
Was move every hour during the day.
His pain level was so high even with
Medicine that this was hard for him.
At first just walking from the bedroom to the kitchen
Was very hard.  It wasn’t until he had the third steroid
Shot in his lower back area that he started
To find relief and improve.  That was sometime in July.
I feel like the end of August beginning of September
Was when he really started to have a decrease in pain.
He can now walk two miles on the treadmill.

Premade meals were a big help. Thankfully
The store I work at has premade breakfast and
Dinner meals.  He could not stand long enough to
Cook a simple meal.  So being able to put the premade
Meal in the microwave was a blessing.

Yoga mats to do physical therapy on.  He
Started with maybe 3 simple moves, which were
Hard due to his constant pain.  We set up the
Yoga mats in our bedroom for him to do these exercises.
We also would take the yoga mats to
A park and put them on a big beach towel
So he could get some time outside
When I had a day off.

Thankfully we have a treadmill at home.
At the beginning he could walk maybe 2 minutes.
He had to keep his hands on the side rails
To take pressure off his back.
Now he can walk for 2 miles.
The pain caused him to have very little energy.
So he spent most of his day in bed at the beginning
Of this journey of being hurt and this
Month ( October) has been the first month
Where he has been close to pain free
And out of bed.  Hopefully at the end of
The month he will go back to work.
I will post more of the things you need with
Severe back pain soon.
Average Kimberly
