The last days of “TheTrip”

 

The last days of our trip were spent down by the Jersey shore.

We didn’t get warm sunny weather.  So we

Did a lot of walking.

Little bird checked out some different places too.

We went to places that my husband hung around when 

He was younger.  He likes Bruce Springsteen.

I got the whole story behind some of his songs.

I feel this is a popular view you see painted for 

Beach scenes.

Little bird liked the artwork.

We stayed at Diane’s bed and breakfast.

We are so thankful for the few days we got to spend 

At her lovely place.

I saw these flip flop and thought of the theme word

For my year. Journey.  We definitely took 

Some journeys this year.

This was a beach house that one of my husbands friends had 

Owned once.

I added to my birding count. Lots of different seagulls 

To photograph.

I have a lot of photos of my husband doing this.

He loves the ocean.

This is one of the beach houses that I like. It would 

Be fun to see the inside.

We stopped at Gee Gees for pizza and once for hot chocolate.

A cute beachfront house.  We like the small ones 

That have been around for years.

The ocean was angry that day.

We watched the boats come in. 

Had a black and white cookie.

Then we hit the last day of our trip.

Every breakfast was French toast with maple syrup and bacon.

I think this photo of me came out nice.

I don’t think I post many photos of myself.

We went to a pinball museum.

We had this pinball machine when we lived in New Jersey.

I’m dressing up as a green alien for Halloween.

A cute item at an antique store.

French toast again.

We had two meals from this restaurant.

I like sitting and watching the boats .

It’s weird but I like photos with lamp posts. I always think of Narnia.

The fishermen don’t like cormorants. I like them.

They need the fish more than us.

This was a bittersweet trip.

Time to fly home.

Airports are a world of their own.

Little bird is as big as a glass of water.

My daughter needs an escape pod. Just a bit big and sound proof.

I like my luggage tag. I got it free from Shutterfly.

Do you look to make sure there is toilet paper?

It’s one of my favorite Seinfeld shows.

Well I have finally finished writing about the trip.

Kimberly’s art gallery. The nine has changed to five.

Remember my Mother’s Day gift, 9 cardboard squares 

On my living room wall.

Well the photos I chose were a bit bigger 

So it’s now five spots.

I have 3 photos printed so far.

A hummingbird.

Temple square in the spring.

A steam train in the desert.

My theme is places we go on dates.

I love the train photo.

It came out so nice.

The Trip a sweet blessing.

After the funeral we received a great blessing.

One of my husbands aunts let us 

Stay at her beach house.

We drove down and stopped for dinner at

The sinners steak house.

I had French onion soup.

Then we went to the beach house.

It was such a blessing to not have to rent a 

Hotel for three days.

My husband’s parents had owned the house and 

Sold it to his aunt and uncle years ago.

They remodeled it.

It was a very cozy place to stay.

I could feel Gods love and 

Comfort in this great act of kindness.

My Elle Woods costume moment!

Have you ever watched Legally Blonde?

Do you remember the part where Elle is invited to a party and they tell her it’s a costume party.

She shows up in a costume and no one else is in a costume.

I went to a fun run this week and they said 

To dress up like a monster.

I decided I would be an alien.

I was pretty much the only person who wore a costume.

At least the balloons arch they had matched my alien theme.

Well I won the costume contest.

Then I had to walk the 5k in 

My crazy green outfit.  I did take the wig off.

I’m going to wear this for Halloween too.

I might get blue or lime green lipstick.

365 workouts completed ✔️

In trying to keep healthy and active I use

The Ifit workout app. 

Last year I did a little over 365 workouts before 

The end of the year. 

I’m so proud of myself because it’s the 

First week of October and I have surpassed last year’s goal.

In September I started doing beginner 

Pilates along with my daily walk.

I’m just moving to the next set of exercises.

Even though I haven’t lost weight I 

Feel better.

I guess maintaining and not gaining weight is 

A small success.

I wonder how many exercise

Routines I will complete before the end of December.

I’ll let you know.

The trip day 4.

 

Today is the funeral. I am so sad today. I know 

That my mother in law’s has gone to heaven to be 

With my father in law.  But my heart misses her.

We took this photo as we left the hotel. 

We spent the morning at the funeral home.

They do a special service before closing the casket.

We said our last goodbyes. 

Twice when I looked at my phone 

I had angel numbers.

After the funeral there was a family gathering.

Then we left to spend a few days at the Jersey Shore.

It’s just how the plane tickets worked.

It was nice though that we

Didn’t have to rush and fly right back home.

I wonder if we will visit New Jersey much now 

That my mother in law has passed away.

What an emotional day.

The trip day 3.

I’m not ever calling this trip a vacation.

It will always be “the trip”. 

It was unplanned, and emotional 😭.

On the afternoon of day two we drove up to 

Somerville and rented a hotel. 

We rested and got prepared for the next two 

days of celebrating my Mother in law’s life.

Day three of the trip we went to the church

We used to attend when we lived in New Jersey.

Then we went to lunch with my husband’s family.

Then we went to the funeral home for the wake.

This was one of the photos of my mother in law that 

They had at the funeral home.

My mother in law was beautiful and kind and loving.

I think she lived an amazing life.

She for the last few years suffered from age related dementia.

It was so hard living far away and not 

being able to talk with her.

She helped me and my family so much when 

My children were little.

We did so many things together.

I miss her so much.
