The trip day one.

I love my suitcase tag.  I had it made on the Shutterfly website. Every so often you can get five freebies,
This was one. My suitcase is packed and ready for
Our flight to New Jersey.

We didn’t get seats next to each other.
I was so busy getting my department ready for my trip,
That I didn’t realize we had to choose our seats.
Thankfully I didn’t have bad people to sit next to.
Jim sat behind me.  We joke that
Some strange man kept reaching over the seat
And touched my head.

The cheapest snack in the airport. $1.79
For four cookies.  Everything else was $4.00
Or more.
We flew Delta so we did not have to land in New York City.

I really like a flight with no layovers.
We drove from the airport to the New Jersey shore.
We had dinner at a seafood restaurant.
My husband worked here when he
Was a teenager.

We got a hotel room and then went for
An evening stroll.

I like listening to the ocean.

Little bird in front of our
Favorite pizza place by the ocean.

I like the lighting around this house.

Getting a shadow photo was hard.

Time for bed.

The unexpected trip.

My mother in law passed away this past Monday.
So we are taking a trip back to New Jersey for
Her funeral.
It’s been a very stressful week. Working
And trying to process her passing.

Dyna was sitting on my computer,
I told her she should sit on
The plane ✈️ tickets.
That might keep me home.
Funny thing is she moved to sit on them.
Do you think she understands?

Journey is my theme this year.
And so now we are on a journey back home to
New Jersey, and beginning a journey with grief.
Purple was my mother in law’s favorite color.
Thus the purple flip flops.

Why am I keeping this? My struggle to declutter my house.

I’m trying very hard this month to declutter my office/guest room.  I have this cat pot, and I have not used it in years. But there it is sitting in my office.  My new question to ask is “why am I keeping this?”  Well when I look at it I feel happy.

I need to let this go.

How do you declutter?

Losing weight in your 50 ‘s is hard!

Can I tell you something?  I have been trying to lose 5 pounds for the last 3 years!  I am slowly figuring things out and what I have realized is it’s HARD!

I exercise, I eat pretty healthy and I can’t lose weight.

This month I am going to try walking up hills for a mile 5 days a week, then do a half hour of Pilates. In the evening I am adding a bike ride.

I am going to be watching what I eat and the calories in my

Food.  More fruits and veggies, more healthy protein and less

sugar treats.

I have only one positive thought 💭, if I didn’t exercise and eat mostly healthy I probably would be very overweight instead of just 5 pounds overweight.

Do you have any advice??

Kimberly

My September goal. Where the heck did August go??

So I did not goal plan in August.  I am giving my self a “C” for August. Better than the “F” that I got In July.  I actually did exercise in August.  I changed my routine. I’m no longer trying desperately to walk super fast on the treadmill. Instead I am walking up hills for a mile.  I do a half hour up hill walk and then I do a beginner Pilates program.

I am doing really well with eating healthy foods for breakfast.

This month my lunches are going to be salad and fruit.

I am also trying to eat out less. So meal planning needs to happen!

I’m trying to read a conference talk every day.

I need to get my basement organized and my photography organized.

So far in September I have done pretty good.

Do you have goals for this month?

My journey in July received an F.

I saw this journal at a bookstore and it sums up my
Goals for July!
What went wrong with my journey?

Seeing yummy cake with flip flops!
My trying to avoid sugar treats was thwarted.

I had a hard time keeping my ducks in a row.

Looking back I definitely failed at my goals this month.

I got sick about the middle of July and it took two weeks to feel better. I think 🤔 I had the new Covid. Ugh 😑.

I am trying to do better this month. I will have to write my goals out again. Did you have goals last month? How did you do?

Kimberly.

July photos.

Well July flew by! These are baby American coots. Such
Strange feet.

Look at Ty long legs on this bird.

We went to the zoo and saw the Utah wildlife exhibit.
I would not want to run into a cougar in the wild.

Does seeing a bird at the zoo count for a bird sighting year?

The bears were having a fight at the zoo.

Baby pheasant.

Pretty butterfly.

Zoom in on a osprey.

Do you see it in this photo?

Up close of a turkey vulture.

Golden eagle with some lunch.

A beautiful cactus flower.

Is this a wild rabbit or a pet left behind?

I’ve seen the kingfisher twice now.

No going in the water, there are snakes in there!

A baby skunk.

I hope you have enjoyed my photos.
