What is your computer algorithm feeding you?

I live in Utah and was shocked by the shooting last week.
I didn’t know who the man was who got shot. I’m not a person who keeps up with politics.
I’m reading posts and listening to people and it makes me wonder about what made people dislike this person,
and what made people like him?
Where did people get information that made them hate him?
Where did people find information that made them follow him?

I think it has a lot to do with what they looked for on their computers and phones. The information you get is brought to you by some type of computer algorithm.
So two people can look up a person and find two different views about them depending on how they search the internet.
Once you choose what you want to believe more of that information gets fed to you.
My computer algorithms send me photos of cats.

They send me photos of flowers and gardens.
The send me people that photograph wildlife and birds.

And for some unknown reason I see things about snakes.
I must have watched a snake video.
The algorithm in my kindle suggests new books to read based on the books I have read.
Take a moment to think about what is being sent your way on your computer or phone.
Is it uplifting you or making you feel like the world is falling apart.
Then look for other information. Take time to be in the real world and put the phone and computers away.
You will find that life is less stressful when you are not constantly connected to the internet.

Lady with a camera, my nature therapy day.

I went to the local garden yesterday to play photographer and get some nature therapy. Here are some of the photos I took.

I thought the Heron was a statue at first. It was nice to spend time watching it. I think it hunts the koi fish.

I love seeing all types of nature when I get the chance to be out in nature.
I wish I could have gotten more photos of this little lizard.
But my camera battery died 😢.
What I find funny is I think the lizard is cute, but if you took the legs off it would be a snake and I don’t like snakes.

I love these flowers.
Enjoy your day.

I thought I was good at change but the past few months have been too much.

I have worked at the same place for 9 years. Things get changed every now and then and I have felt like I was good with the changes.  But lately I feel like everything is changing and I’m wondering if it will ever calm down.

I haven’t been good with the changes.  I’ve felt stressed and annoyed.  I like my routine and feel like it’s been turned sideways.

The other week I asked my direct manager if there was any more change they could possibly do. She just looked at me and said, I think there’s going to be management change places.

That did happen, but I was glad my direct manager didn’t get moved.

Yesterday I went to a meeting and they made even more changes.  I want to get a temporary tattoo to put on my wrist that says “go with the flow”. To remind me to not stress about the change, but to flow with it.

How do you manage stress when there is lots of change at work?

Balloons and phone calls that’s what my day was filled with.

On Saturdays where I work I make lots of balloons. That’s the life for a guest service worker.  I make balloons, I answer phone calls. I give people their cake orders.

And I also give customers their sandwich orders.
I help people fix their accounts and find items they want to purchase.

Yesterday was a very long and busy day.
So they say AI is going to take over guests service jobs.
Are they making robots to take my place?

This is what the AI program thought robot worker would look like.
I hope it never happens.
I think people are better for customers service jobs.
What do you think?

A project almost finished, organizing my bird photography.

After hours of moving bird photos from sd cards to an external hard drive I am almost done organizing my bird photos.
The next step will be to create a life bird photography book.
I have 2 SD cards left to work through.
I’m so proud that I have kept working on this project.
My next project will be organizing my flower photography.

My favorite bird, little adventure bird.

33 day dates with my Prince Charming.

I’m having fun asking the AI program to make cartoon pictures for me.  Not sure who would go walking in the woods in heels and dress clothes. But this couple is cute. It’s a young version of my husband and I.

We have gone on 33 day dates so far this year.  We were talking about how nice it is to go on dates in the middle of the week.  Why is this so nice? Because no one else is out during the week.  It’s so less crowded.

We had a nice walk, then we went to lunch.

We had a very nice day.

Some photos from our date.

Taken with my little camera.

Here are some photos from our 33rd day date of the year.
We went back to Farmington bay bird sanctuary.
We were looking for frogs and turtles.

A damselfly riding on a feather.

I like thistles.

Little bird came with us. See the sunflowers in the background, they grow in the wild but I can’t get them to grow in my garden.

The heron was in front of these beautiful purple flowers.

Look at its giant foot.

My fitness journey, my butt no longer hurts riding my exercise bike!

About 3 years ago we bought a stationary bike.
My thought was that it would be quite compared to the treadmill.
The problem was sitting on it for a long time was not comfortable.
When our treadmill broke this spring,
I was determined to keep exercising so I started riding the bike again. With a new seat, and determination I kept with my fitness program and now I look forward to riding the bike.
I think changing the seat made it much more comfortable.
I enjoy having a fitness program called IFit. It has trainers that you can bike with that takes you to places around the world. They also give really good advice about fitness and nutrition.
I have been playing with an AI photo app.

You write what you want it to create.
I find it interesting, but can you find the mistake in the picture?
I have been adding weight lifting to my exercise routine. Someday maybe I will have muscles like this drawing.
But that will probably take some time.
I am not good with drawing, and the AI program has issues too.

Playing refrigerator jenga

I’m thankful that we have a refrigerator full of food.
But I have to say we are bad at organizing
Our refrigerator.

Many times we open the door and think of
The game Jenga.
Can I successfully get the food container
I want to take out without having other items fall out too?

The other problem is finding the item I’m looking for.
Where is the cats food.
But I always feel blessed that I have food to eat.

Taken with my little camera.

Our date this week had lots of frogs and turtles
Along with the birds.
The American bullfrog.

My husband liked this. You have a bunch of different birds
And the turtle hanging out together.

Another frog photo.

A new bird for my life list.
Neotropic cormorant.
Have a good weekend.

My son is going to be tiny apartment living

My son is leaving the nest to move into a tiny apartment.

It’s a hotel room that has been renovated to be a studio apartment.

He is excited to be on his own.  I went shopping to get him some of the basic needs.  And realized there is so much that you need when you live on your own.

I got him some dishes, frying pans, cooking utensils and mixing bowls.  Hopefully he will be able to make a meal his first week in his new place.

He will be sleeping on a cot until he figures out what kind of bed he wants.  Don’t think 🤔 that we didn’t offer him to take his bed. We did, but he has other plans.

He literally is starting with almost nothing. I will be blogging about this adventure.

Taken with my little camera.

Had a nice day driving around the Timpanogos mountains
Yesterday.

We stopped at cascade springs and got to do
Some birdwatching.

Chickadees are hard to photograph.
They don’t stay still for a long time.

Hummingbirds are also hard for me to photograph.
So I was pleased with the photos I got.

There was a group of Turkey vultures flying around.
Hope you enjoy these photos.
