Little Adventure Birds birding and garden adventure

Little adventure bird got out of the house this week and went birdwatching and flower garden walking.
It was sunny and warm. Please remember to wear sunscreen.
We forgot and got sunburned.
Note how Little Adventure Bird is trying to look like
the wild birds.
He found a nice sign to perch on.

Just like this red winged black bird.

Now Little Adventure Bird is trying to blend into the bushes.

Just like this great blue heron.
When bird watching you need to go walking very quietly and look for the hidden birds.

Here are some other birds that little bird saw.
A Double-crested Cormorant, an American Avocet.

A painted turtle. We have never seen turtles at the bird sanctuary before.

Great blue Heron with babies.

White-faced Ibis.

Brewer’s Blackbird.

Long-billed Curlew.

Sandhill cranes.
Wanting to take advantage of a beautiful day,
Little adventure bird left behind his bird friends and visited the local gardens.

He found the hidden gnome.

He climbed to the top of the garden to enjoy an amazing view of Salt Lake City.

He did some exploring of the flowers and trees.

He did some perching in a beautiful tree. He chatted with
Some bees 🐝.

He was brave and sat on the high ledge.

He enjoyed the beauty of the garden.
Spring is definitely on its way.
Hope you enjoyed seeing
all that Little adventure bird did on his
day out in Utah.

A new camera equals photo adventures

I decided a few weeks ago to buy a new camera. I wanted a

better zoom lens and I wanted to be able to send my photos from my camera to my phone.

When my camera arrived of course it was miserable outside.
The last two weeks though I have been able to get out and do
Some bird photography.

I’m also keeping track of what birds we are seeing
So we know the best time to go birding next year.

Yesterday we saw a lot of birds.
What I like about this photo is you can see
all the little flies around the bird. It is sitting there opening
it’s mouth and getting a meal.
I often wonder how many little flies make up a meal for the birds.

I’m trying to get better at catching birds flying.
Here is a pelican coming in for a landing.

Here is a Sandhill crane. I have photos of them flying too.

When we went to Antelope Island we saw a coyote.

The Heron have some babies.

This bird almost blends with the grass.

The American coot is protecting its territory.

Have you ever heard a meadow lark sing? It’s beautiful.
Well I am off on another photo adventure today.

Little bird goes bird watching.

Little adventure bird needed to get out of the house
because the cat was getting on his nerves.
So he went bird watching at the bear River bird refuge.

He saw some tundra swans.

A shoveler duck.

A blue Heron.

A pin tail duck.
This was exciting because we have never seen this duck before.

We also saw a bald eagle. We love seeing the bald eagle.

We had a nice bird watching day.

It was very cloudy out and the water was very high.
Little adventure bird almost fell in.

Don’t believe this photo, the friendship is very fragile.
Dyna really wants to chew on little bird.

So most little bird stays in a safe spot.
Hope you enjoyed the bird photos.

Throw back Thursday, 4 years ago was panic shopping.

Four years ago everything shut down. Well maybe not everything but almost everything. Grocery stores stayed open.
It was so stressful to watch panic shopping.
Our store was pretty much emptied of groceries.
I remember walking the aisle and seeing what
items were left. What food products no one picked.
That is what you need to learn to like to eat.

Mask and gloves.  I still have my masks.
We still hand out free masks.

Social distancing. Here is our shadow photo from
4 years ago. I need to get back to the Temple. I haven’t been since the pandemic 😷.
I don’t like being around a lot of people anymore.
I didn’t get covid when you had to quarantine for 10 days.
I always thought it would have been nice to have 10 days off.
I got covid this past January. It was horrible. I’m still not 100% better.
I hope I never have to go through panic shopping again.
What did you do when covid first came around?

A moody walk at the lake

We have had a lot of snow and
rain this winter.
Going on dates has been interesting because
we like to go outside, but sometimes
the weather isn’t wonderful.

Here are photos from our date at Utah lake.

One nice thing is the water level is
very high.  The lake had been so low
two years ago.

Then I went to church and prayed for rain and snow to
replenish the lakes and rivers.  God
listened to my prayer and sent the rain.

So I say lots of prayers of gratitude.

I don’t think we have seen the water levels
this high before.

Little adventure bird is doing some bird watching.

We went out for lunch afterwards.
My husband likes the old vehicles at
the restaurant.

The food was good, but not my favorite.

He would love this project car.
I think 🤔 not.

Day date four a walk in the winter garden.

A few weeks ago we went for a walk at the
Red Butte gardens.

It was nice to meander around the gardens
There weren’t many flowers in bloom.

But it was peaceful. There has been a ton
of change where I work,
so getting out and being in a garden was very
good for my mental health.

I like looking at nature, even dried up
dead flowers. They still have a feel and texture to them.

Look there were some flowers blooming.
I think these are snow drops.
Hope you are well and enjoyed reading this little post.
