April Garden Walking, Tulips, Daffodils, and Ranunculus . April 2021

This tulip is from my garden.  I have to say I am so happy that
I planted some tulips in my own garden this year.
With the pandemic still going last fall I did not know if
the public gardens that I like to walk would be open, and I wanted
to see some tulips of my own.
My daughter and I walked at the Thanksgiving Point
gardens twice last week.  I told her I would take less photos.
I have so many photos I think I need to take less.

Most of the photos I am sharing with you were taken with my cell phone camera.
I like some of the different settings on the camera.

I'm going towards a more artistic look to my flower photos this year.

I like to have the flower illuminated and the rest of
the photo black like this.

One of my friends really liked this photo, so she got a copy.

Do you see the duck?

I really liked the coloring of this tulip.

I'm always amazed at the different shapes and colors of
the flowers.

I like the fuzzy texture of this flower.

I liked this little plant too.

I really like the yellow flower in this group.
I'm sure it was supposed to look like the others, but something went wrong.

As I walk through the gardens I try to photograph
the flowers I don't think I have a photo of.  I
want to do a book about flowers and their meanings.
I got a new phone app that is supposed to tell you
what the flower is that you post to it.

Most of these flowers I don't know what their
names are so I am photographing them to put in the app.

I love the Ranunculus flowers.  They are
just so beautiful.

I also have spots in the garden that I want to
photograph each week just to show the  changes as
the garden goes from spring, to summer, to fall.

Another plant that I think is pretty but don't
know the name.

Do you know what flower this is?
Pansies.  As my daughter and I walked the gardens
she noted that I know the names of most of the flowers.

She said I just see pretty flowers, and have
no clue what their names are.

Speaking of flower names, they have a
section in the garden where they tell
you the different names of the tulips.

some day I want to make a book
A to Z Tulip flowers by their name.

I never knew they all had a special name.

I like the Silver Parrot tulip.

Do you have a favorite tulip color?

Here is a pretty Hyacinth.

I like how they have little signs that
teach you about the plants in the gardens.

This is another spot I hope to photograph each week.

Did you know there were so many different colored tulips,
and each has it's own name?

The first week is probably not the best week
to visit if you can only go once to the tulip festival.
Most of the garden looked like this.
Tulips that have not yet bloomed.

This is from my own garden.

I like this photo of a daffodil.

My daughter and I are planning to do a picnic some day soon.

I love all the decorations they put around the gardens.
Hope you are all enjoying spring.  It's time to get out in my own garden.

Looking Forward to Spring and walking in Gardens. AKA... looking at old spring photos. April 6, 2021

Spring is here and I am so excited because the public gardens
are going to be open this year.

Last year in March the world started to shut down due to the pandemic.
I think we all thought that the two weeks of being shut down
would somehow make life normal.
We shut down for two weeks, and then though in April
things will get better.

I was counting down to the Tulip Festival.
I was counting down to days walking in beautiful gardens.

Then everything stayed closed.
I don't think the gardens opened for limited amounts of people
until June or July.

By that time facemask were mandatory when in public settings.
I work in a grocery store, so for 8 hours I wear a face mask when working.
On my days off I just did not want to go places where you had to wear a facemask.

So I didn't go to the gardens on a weekly basis like I had for the years before.
Instead we went to the bird preserve because birding is not popular.
We could walk around mask free and see no one.

This year the gardens open on April 9th.
I'm sure facemasks will be required, but I am ok with that.
I can't wait to see all the flowers.

For me a garden is a sacred place.
It's a place where I can have quiet and feel the Spirit.

I see God's hand in every flower.
The patterns, the colors, the beauty all point to a Devine Creator.

I'm exited for spring and seeing the rebirth of the world.
The birds are coming back to nest and have babies.
The flowers are emerging from the ground.

We are getting closer to an end of the Pandemic.
People are getting vaccinated.
There is hope for things to become better.

I got a new app. on my phone that tells you
the type of plant you have photographed.

I am slowly going through my photos and any flower
that I don't know I will be copying onto my phone
so I can find out what type of flower it is.

I have thousands of photos.  My other project I am working on
is putting together a Utah Bird book.
I love these photos of this humming bird.

Are you looking forward to spring?

Do you have a favorite flower?

Do you like walking in gardens?

This is my favorite type of tulip.
I just like the green and pink color together.

I hope that you are all doing well.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my flower photography.

I can't wait to be out behind the camera again.

Have a wonderful week.
