First Date of 2021 : Watching the bison at Antelope Island.

It's the start of a new year and I'm ready for new adventures.

We drove out to Antelope Island a few weeks ago,
I thought it would be empty of people, but I was wrong.

It happened to be a holiday so there were lots of people.
All in our face masks of course.

I like walking around and seeing all the old farm equipment.

He likes looking at all the old farm equipment, and saying "I could make
this run. Look at the size of the engine."

It was bright and sunny where we were, but across the lake
there was a snow storm.

Our shadow kiss photo.

I got a selfie stick for Christmas, we have been
trying to get that perfect shot of us and a great background.

I kind of like this one.

He just loves looking at all the equipment and thinking about
how it ran.

This one is "look at how big the engine is!"

I can't imagine living in the small farm house.

I don't think I would have cooked a good meal on
this stove.

I had toy horses when I was young. The rooms
are so small.

We had some fun with the bison statues.

I wanted you to realize the bison was in the photo, but it doesn't look to great.

We think this is a little animal.  We have no clue what it was though.

I'm not sure if it was alive and playing dead, or if it was dead.
But we didn't want to disturb it and then get bitten.

This bison had beautiful paintings on it.

I'm not sure why I kept my mask on, no one was around us.
Although this is my favorite mask.

The bison were way away from the road.

There was a heard a little closer, they were very busy eating.

Finally they picked up their heads.  Just encase you
are worried, no I did not get close to them.  This is
from using my zoom lens.
I hope we go back in the spring.  It was a fun place to visit.

Our First walks of 2021... Utah lake. Walking in a winter wonderland.

I love this photo with the sun setting behind the tree,
the lake is in the distance and there are people out
ice skating.

I guess we have never gone to the lake in January.
We have never seen it frozen to the point you could
ice skate on it.

Sorry for so many repeat photos, but I just find the colors so
beautiful.

A different tree.  They had a piano out on the lake.
I think someone was making a video.

Sometime you can catch that moment and it looks
beautiful, and other times the camera can't catch
what your eye is seeing.  I guess I felt lucky the camera
could catch the beauty this time.

One of my Christmas presents was a selfie stick.
We are practicing using it. Can you tell who is
taking the photo? I love the clouds behind us.

More ice skating.  It looked fun, until you saw someone
fall, ouch!  I don't know that my oldish bones could take
a fall on the ice, so I will be content to watch.

We like walking out to the end and watching for birds.
We call it the bird walk.

These are Blue Heron tracks in the snow.
I saw them, then saw the blue heron right near the waters edge.
Unfortunately it saw me, and flew away before I could get my camera out.

We did find where it flew to. This was the best
I could get zooming in.

Do you see our shadows in the grass?
The Heron is in this photo too.  Can you see it? No,
now you have an idea of how much I zoomed in to
get it's photo.  I want to get a camera with a bigger zoom lens.

This is a zoom in of the sea gulls. I wonder how they all stay warm.

My new year hair cut.  I love how they styled my hair.
When I wash it the curls will come back.  Maybe that
will be a goal this year, try to figure out how to straighten my hair.

We were brave and walked out onto the ice.  We will probably never
get out this far on the lake again.  We don't typically go out in boats or swim in the lake.

He loves our walks, and is a good sport with all my bugging him
to do different photos.

Here we are out on the lake.  I love the clouds in the background.
I love my new selfie stick.  I can't wait for our 2021 adventures.
I'm going to try to keep up with all the dates this year and post them faster.
Hope your new year has started out healthy and safe.
